Spring Term 2017

This term, we are learning about people who help us and keep us safe.
Last week, we started to learn about the role of doctors and nurses. We had a visit from a local nurse, who help us learn about how to keep ourselves healthy. This topic has also led us to look at our bodies and bones, the children have really enjoyed looking at X-rays and role play in the doctors surgery!

In our leap into life sessions the cubs have been learning about using our bodies in different ways to move over, under and through apparatus.

Rosie, a nurse from Lyme Regis Medical Centre, came to visit us today to tell us all about her job as a nurse. Rosie told us that she helps people when they are hurt or feeling poorly and she gives people injections to prevent them from becoming poorly. We talked about the importance of washing our hands properly and Rosie told us we should wash them for as long as it takes us to sing Happy Birthday! Rosie showed us how to use our stethoscope to listen to people’s hearts and lungs. Thank you to Rosie for coming to visit us.
