Executive Headteacher : Michael Rolls

Alan has been the executive headteacher of the Federation since its formation, in 2012. He has delegated the day to day management of the running of the school including SEND to the Head of Teaching and Learning Mrs Clare Rinaldi.

The Head of Teaching and Learning has responsibility for day-to-day management of all aspects of the school’s work, including:
• Provision for pupils with SEND
• Keeping the governing body fully informed
• Responsible for the arrangements for SEND provision throughout the school
• Supporting the policy through resources

Working with the School Business Manager to ensure an SEND budget is identified and meets needs of pupils with SEND.

The SENDCO – Gilly Clark

The SENDCo has responsibility for day-to-day management of all aspects of the school’s daily work in SEND, including:

• Provision for pupils with SEND
• The overview of arrangements for SEND provision throughout the school , supporting class teachers to produce intervention provision maps.
• Completion of DAFs where required in conjunction with all parties involved especially children and parents

The SEND Governor –Catherine Way

Catherine Way is the current Governor with responsibility for SEND at Shute Community Primary and for The Axe Beacon Federation. She has regular contact with the SENCo, ensuring she is kept up-to-date with SEND provision. School must make an annual report to parents on the school’s current SEND provision.

Teaching assistants

There is a teaching assistant in each class to assist the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum assuring that all children can access quality first education at a highly differentiated level and receive individualised interventions which are time referenced and reviewed for impact half termly.

The school also has 2 early years practitioners who assist learning and engagement in The Holt Foundation Stage Unit.
